THIS WEEKS INTEL

I've been watching the same thing happen for years.

There's a DJ with real skill. Great record knowledge, years in the game, can genuinely play. And they're stood in a half-empty room.

Then there's someone down the road, nowhere near the same level, selling the place out.

Most people look at that and call it unfair.

I don't.

Because when you actually look at it, it isn't unfair at all. The one selling the room out figured something out that the other one didn't. They realised the game changed.

There's a younger generation that never separated the music from the phone. To them, it's all one job. The mix and the content go together.

So they post properly. Consistently. In a way that gets seen.

Promoters notice that. And when it's time to book, they go with the name they keep seeing.

Meanwhile, a lot of genuinely brilliant DJs still treat social like an afterthought. Post a clip, post a flyer, throw a caption on it, move on. Then wonder why the bookings slow down.

If you use social media properly, you've earned those gigs.

That's not luck. It's not cheating the system. It is the system.

Talent alone doesn't get DJs booked any more. Distribution and brand strategy do.

That's a tough sentence to hear when you've spent thirty years on your craft. I get that. I've spent thirty seven years on mine too.

What the socially savvy DJs figured out is learnable. It's a skill, just like beatmatching was. Nobody's born knowing it. You get good the same way you did everything else behind the decks, by understanding it and repeating it until it clicks.

That's exactly why I built DiscoveryOS.

It's a set of tools at discoveryos.es, all designed to help DJs understand how to use social properly.

The main one I want you to try is the Discovery Engine.

You paste in a post, or even just a rough idea or opening line. It looks at it five different ways, shows you what's not working, and gives you three stronger versions of your opening line.

Each one is scored out of 40, so you can actually see why it's better.

That score comes from something I built called First Bar. It's how I judge whether a first line is strong enough to stop the scroll. Thirty is a pass. Most don't get there, and that's usually the problem.

People spend hours on the edit, and seconds on the line that decides whether anyone watches it.

There's more inside DiscoveryOS too. A quiz to show where your content system is leaking. The full framework the Engine uses. I'll walk you through those another time.

For now, just try the new tool.

Take a post you thought deserved more reach. Paste it in. See what it scores. Watch where it shows you you're losing people before they even get to your best work.

It's free. No account needed. Takes about thirty seconds.

Try the Discovery Engine free below

Then hit reply and tell me what score you got. I read every one.

✉️ Welcome to the BPM Newsletter Business, Performance, Marketing insights for DJs and creative entrepreneurs DJOS OFFICIAL LAUNCH I've been DJing 37 years. I've been running a social media agency for the last 5 and a half years. For most of those 37 years I did what nearly every DJ does. Played some great gigs then just hoped the phone would ring. I had no system in place whatsoever. The agency years changed how I saw everything. I started auditing DJ brands properly, and the same thing came...

✉️ Welcome to the BPM Newsletter Business, Performance, Marketing insights for DJs and creative entrepreneurs THIS WEEKS INTEL Morning. Every DJ I know is all in on Reels on Instagram. That's how strangers find you, so it makes sense. But Metricool which is the social media scheduling tool I use in my business, looked at 24 million Instagram posts this year and carousels came out ahead of Reels on nearly every engagement metric. Carousels are also the format not everyone bothers with. PAUL'S...

✉️ Welcome to the BPM Newsletter Business, Performance, Marketing insights for DJs and creative entrepreneurs THIS WEEKS INTEL Last month one of my posts did 735,700 views on TikTok. The post before it did 919. Same account. Same me. Same 30 days. Most people would call that luck. But it isn't. In one month I had two posts go viral on two different platforms. A reel on Instagram at 75,610 views. A post on TikTok at 735,700. Different accounts, different platforms, different topics. So I did...
