Party season books more DJs than summer, and is sometimes better paid

THIS WEEKS INTEL

For a lot of DJs, summer ending feels like the season winding down. The gigs thin out, the festival posts stop, and everyone goes a bit quiet.

The booking calendar however says the opposite. The back half of the year is one of the busiest stretches there is, and a big chunk of it lands midweek, which frees up your weekends for other club gigs.

Corporate party season runs from October into December. Plenty of it is midweek work, not Saturday nights. Companies book their Christmas do's on the days the venues are free. Those bookings get locked in early. Most DJ bookings are confirmed by October. Being visible now is what puts you in the running for those gigs.

Private events fill the spaces between club nights, Birthdays, anniversaries, work do's, leaving parties. They often pay better than the club events, and there are more of them about in autumn than in July.T

he enquiries all come in at different times and different sources, Facebook, Instagram DMs, Email, Whatsapp.

When they pile up, the ones you are slow to answer too are the ones you lose. A booker will usually go with whoever replied first.

That is the real job in party season. The enquiries come. Holding them so none slip is the part that decides how many turn into gigs. They need somewhere you can actually manage them from.

That is what the Bookings tool in DJOS is for. Every enquiry and gig sits in one place. Most DJs keep it all in their head. The gigs, the rates, the content plan, the follow-ups. It works until it doesn't, and then you miss a booking or forget what you quoted someone last time.

DJOS is the system I built to fix that. You get three tools that run your DJ life and a library that teaches the rest. A Planning Dashboard sits on top and shows your focus for the week. You open it and you know what matters today.

Run party season out of that and you keep every booking and every quote in one spot.

DJOS is €47.

Set it up before the enquiries start and you go into the busiest season already organised.

✉️ Welcome to the BPM Newsletter Business, Performance, Marketing insights for DJs and creative entrepreneurs THIS WEEKS INTEL Instagram just published what it wants from a caption. Most DJ accounts are ignoring all of it. Most DJs write the caption last. You upload the set, tag the venue, add a quick line on top, and share. Instagram has just published its own guidance on captions, and it treats them as central to how a post performs. In its words, the caption tells the search system what...

I’ve create a tool to help with all this it’s called DJOS and it just got 4 major updates. It's off Notion and on its own site now. Your own login,...

✉️ Welcome to the BPM Newsletter Business, Performance, Marketing insights for DJs and creative entrepreneurs THIS WEEKS INTEL Open Instagram right now and ask why you are really on it. The honest answer is entertainment. The feed hands you whatever holds your attention, and catching up with mates barely comes into it. That is a different app to the one we all learned to post on. Five years ago the deal was simple. Post a flyer with a few hashtags and your followers saw it. That deal is gone....
